Airbnb’s highly successful online travel accommodation hub lets people list, locate, and book accommodations virtually anywhere in the world. Airbnb currently has over 1,000,000 listings in 34,000 cities in 190+ countries. Airbnb was founded in San Francisco in 2008 when a pair of designers with extra home space decided to start hosting travel guests.

The folks at Airbnb approached us with the following
challenges:

Challenge 1:

“Build an online store where Airbnb employees around the globe could purchase company-themed apparel and promotional items for personal use and to distribute at events. Airbnb wanted to be able to track promotional spending in real time by department and office location.”

Social Imprints’ solution 1:

Social Imprints launched an Airbnb employee webstore within five days of the request and stocked it with branded items created by Social Imprints for the Airbnb community. The promotional products began shipping immediately, and were delivered within two business days of receiving orders.

Challenge 2:

“Create a vendor network to distribute Airbnb’s branded merchandise in Europe, Asia, and South America. Airbnb wanted to avoid excessive shipping costs and customs delays.”

Social Imprints’ solution 2:

Social Imprints helped Airbnb identify and vet three vendors in London, China, and Brazil to serve its European, Asian, and Latin American markets. Social Imprints provides the vendors with merchandise and consults with the individual vendors to ensure that they are continuing to meet Airbnb’s high standards of quality and service.
